Radio
Stations
The disc
jockeys on music stations can constantly run
promotions, giveaways and contests utilizing
text messaging. For example, they can ask
people to cast their vote and express how
they feel about a new song. The listeners
can send in a text message to be signed up
for ticket giveaways to the hottest concerts
and events. The DJ can announce five song
titles before going to a commercial break.
The listeners can vote whether or not to
play certain songs or perhaps the order they
will be played in. Listeners can text their
dedications or “Shout Outs” to the
station for all their friends to hear.
Some
stations also offer these services using
premium billing. In this model the listeners
are charged $0.99 to send a message so this
turns into a revenue stream for the radio
station. Premium billing services, such as
polling and voting are available through
Promo2Cell. Please contact us for more
information.
In
addition to listener participation,
news/talk stations can ask their listeners
to sign up to receive the latest traffic and
weather information. Instead of waiting to
hear the traffic report the listeners can be
sent a message directly to their phone
warning them of serious accidents on major
roadways in the area. This service can be
set up to work only during drive time. In
other words, messages would be sent out only
between 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM Monday through
Friday. The possibilities are truly endless.
Television
Stations
News
anchors or the weather person can ask people
to send a text message to receive updates on
severe weather alerts such as hurricane
tracking and mandatory evacuations.
Television stations can conduct polls to see
how people feel about local issues that may
be affecting them. Once again the
possibilities are endless.
